Powerscreen Ireland 10th Anniversary

Powerscreen Ireland has been in operation for more than ten years and has recently been appointed the exclusive dealer for Northern Ireland for Powerscreen® and Terex® Pegson products.

The company operates a fleet of service engineers unrivalled by any other supplier of crushing & screening equipment in Ireland. With a stock of spare parts well in excess of 500,000 Euros, Powerscreen Ireland have the resources and people to provide the type of responsive service the industry is looking for.

The Irish Quarry Market

In today’s increasing market there is a high demand for specification materials which meet British, US and EU regulations.  This is across all types of aggregate, whether it’s for roadbase, concrete or any other type of aggregate; making crushers and screens that meet these specifications highly sought after. Track mounted screens and crushers are also in continual high demand.  Large quarry operators are looking for larger crushers and screens, increasing another trend for large machines, such as the Powerscreen® H6203.

Con Gallagher, Sales & Marketing Manager for Powerscreen Ireland commented on the buoyant Irish Quarry Industry,

“We estimate the Irish construction & quarry markets to be worth approximately €100 million.  This is driven by the continuing development of the road network throughout Ireland.  Effective planning on our part has meant we are not hindered by the long supply times many other companies are suffering.  Thus, Powerscreen Ireland customers have a limited waiting time for both mobile crushing and screening machines, delivery times on most of the equipment down to less than 2 weeks.”Powerscreen Chieftain 1700 at Kildare, Ireland

Powerscreen Ireland along with their UK counterparts had a very successful Hillhead exhibition, despite the weather.  The quality visitors were given a real treat at the Powerscreen® & Terex® Pegson stand through the display of the new machines launched this year, including a magnificent working demonstration.

New Machines

The H5163 has now been added to the Powerscreen® H Range to cater for projects and contracts that do not require the massive out-put tonnage of the Powerscreen® H6203. The H5163 can produce material up to 600tph, compared to the H6203 which can produce materials up to 800tph (depending on application). This makes it a more cost-effective purchase for the smaller projects whilst still providing all the advantages of the Powerscreen® H6203. The advantages include being a good scalping unit, as well as giving large production of high specification products for use in concrete and road building and paving.

The Powerscreen® H Range has also been designed to work in crushing set-ups which require a closed loop system for primary, secondary and tertiary crushing processes with the objective of achieving high tonnages of fine sized product which meet strict specifications.

The new Powerscreen® Chieftain 1700 has been added to the globally successful Chieftain Range. The Chieftain 1700 has been developed as a highly mobile 2 & 3 deck model giving up to 6 product separation.  This model has been specifically designed to fit into the mid range bracket between the Chieftain 1400 and the Chieftain 2100.  The screen at Hillhead was a rinser version of the Chieftain 1700, meaning it can also wash aggregate.

The new Chieftain 2100X is an upgraded version of the Chieftain 2100 with an increased screen angle of up to 30o, available as a 2 and 3 Deck and has an increased screen area of 14% on the bottom deck pushing the screening capability much higher than the Chieftain 2100.

The latest development from the engineers at Terex® Pegson features the well-proven XV350 vertical shaft impactor. This is driven from the 438HP Caterpillar C13 engine via a self adjusting HFO clutch with a wedge belt drive through a countershaft assembly. The VSI is fitted with a shoe and anvil arrangement, which is interchangeable with a variety of other configurations depending on the requirements of the application.

Powerscreen® and Terex® Pegson continue to invest in providing industry leading aftermarket service.  Powerscreen® & Terex® Pegson dealers can also offer customers Terex® Financial Services (TFS) to provide competitive finance and leasing solutions structured to compliment the customer’s cash flow, budget and operational requirements.

These new machines and the continual improvement of the Aftersales department means Powerscreen® and Terex® Pegson are always a step ahead of the game, responding to customer demands whilst introducing new proactive features and services.

Powerscreen Ireland predicts that the Irish market will continue to grow in the near future, despite some sectors such as contract crushing & screening slowing slightly.
